The idea for this book grew out of classes Hoeller taught which linked the Tarot with the symbolic system of the Kabbalah. In the course of these classes, Hoeller composed meditations designed to help students experience the meaning of each of the twenty-two cards in the Tarots Major Arcana in relationship to the spiritual path they represent. At the urging of students who found these meditations helpful, Hoeller wrote this book, now celebrated as a classic.
