When Tom Fellows says that a Venn diagram is a better way of illustrating family ties than a traditional tree, his daughter Andrea has no idea that he is referring to their own situation. It is only when she loses both parents in an accident that she takes an interest in her own genealogy & begins to see that her life was not all that it seemed.
