This set brings together for the first time British Political Party General Election Manifestos of the Conservative, Labour and Liberal Parties, dating back to 1900, including the most recent General Election manifestos of 1997.

The project provides an indispensible source of data about contrasting political ideologies and policy positions as well as charting their changes over time. In addition to the new introductions to each volume, there will be a comprehensive index, making the volumes easier to use.

This text considers whether the liberalization of trade is compatible with the efforts of industrialized countries to reduce greenhouse emissions. It examines the strains and conflicts between these two international goals and focuses on the effects of the UN convention on climate change and the Kyoto Protocol, specifically: their implications for levels of trade, potential restrictions on trade and implications for the World Trade Organization regime of emissions trading. The author also looks at the implications of energy efficiency standards and energy taxes for international trade.
