This is an autobiography that will grip the reader's attention as Don Atkin shares the process that he has walked through from one given to the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eye, and the boastful pride of life, to nearly fifty years of missional activities in fourteen nations.

The voice of Jesus Himself, as well as the apostolic and prophetic voices found echoing down through church history, have long expressed a clarion call to the body of Christ to maintain a bright and brilliant unity with God, and with each other-a unity put on full display for all to see. These voices have long been shouted down or altogether silenced by other aspects of church mission which have all but drowned out this, the simplest and most basic expressed will of Christ.

So many rely upon one or the other-grit or grace-rather than both-grit and grace. When I gave myself to Jesus I included my grit right along with my whole body, soul and spirit. All that I am and all that I have belong to Him, for His use as He sees fit.

To approach this book as a slave, or an orphan, could seemingly put the message of this book out of reach for you as something too ideal or spiritual. If you approach this book with an orphan or slave mentality, you might react negatively to certain trigger words related to wounding in your past. Whole and healthy sons and daughters need not live in reaction to the past, insecurity in the present, or fear of the future. Most likely you realize your part in the new creation, the present-day earthly body of Messiah.

There are 16 chapters in 1 Corinthians. There are also 16 chapters in this book - one corresponding to each of the Bible chapters, explaining how each chapter refers to the discerning of the Lord's body in various ways.

We are all on a journey. This could be the greatest season in the history of the church, if we will open our hearts and minds to embrace new insights into why we exist-why are we here? This is a 21st century apostolic revelation and application of what was clearly delineated through Paul twenty centuries earlier. He had an understanding of why the church existed, then and now.

Where do present-day terror realities fit in the purpose of God? The church should not react to circumstances, but should respond with context for kingdom advancement. The prophets, who are primarily charged with bringing understanding to the church, have a wide-open opportunity to respond with definitive explanations concerning the hour in which we are living.

We affirm "separation of church and state," the first amendment to the U. S. Constitution, wanting to keep the state out of the business of the church. However, we conveniently forget that separation so that the church may involve itself in the business of the state. We wrongly continue to see ourselves as American citizens who are now Christians. Many go through life without ever graduating to the status of Christians who happen to live in America. Such a transition should be the fruit of being transformed by the renewing of our minds
