Wood Modification considers the various wood modification processes available, and their advantages and disadvantages. Coverage includes: introduction to the importance of timber as a renewable resource, and the material properties of wood from the perspective of its disadvantages and how these can be overcome by modification; chemical modification; thermal modification; impregnation treatment; oil treatments; and surface modifications.
