The Localized Interaction Theory (LIT) embraces various physical models of the influence of the environment on the moving body, which are grouped by the justice of the postulate that the influence of the environment on each body point is independent. By the end of the 1960s, the LIT has become a specific branch of physics and mechanics, and this development is characterized both by integrating results obtained for different models and by appearance of universal methods that can be applied to many models. This monograph discusses the LIT using the above approaches.

This is a collection of review articles on the most outstanding topics in heavy flavour physics. All the authors have made significant contributions to this field. The book reviews in detail the theoretical structure of heavy flavour physics within the Standard Model and its confrontation with existing experimental data. This edition covers recent trends and ideas and includes new experimental information. It updates some of the key contributions to the previous volume, reduces or omits less active fields, and includes new activities.

This volume reviews the state of the art of accelerator physics and technologies and the use of accelerators in research, industry and medicine. It covers a wide range of topics, from basic problems concerning the performance of circular and linear accelerators to technical issues and related fields. Also discussed are recent achievements that are of particular interest (such as RF quadrupole acceleration, ion sources and storage rings) and new technologies (such as superconductivity for magnets and RF cavities). The book should interest not only researchers and engineers in the field of...

This book provides a self-contained description of the measurements of the magnetic dipole moments of the electron and muon, along with a discussion of the measurements of the fine structure constant, and the theory associated with magnetic dipole moments. Also included are the searches for a permanent electric dipole moment of the electron, muon, neutron and atomic nuclei. The related topic of the transition moment for lepton flavor violating processes, such as neutrinoless muon or tauon decays, and the search for such processes are included as well. The papers, written by many of the...

Supersymmetry extends the Standard Model of particle physics into a more powerful theory that both explains more and allows more questions to be addressed. This volume begins with an introduction to the physics and methods and formalism of supersymmetry which is accessible to those with a basic knowledge of the Standard Model of particle physics.
