The task of measuring an area or object is often quite manual and impractical. Simple methods include the use of a self-retracting measuring tape or a ruler, a pencil, a sheet of paper and some basic drawing skills. And this method even lacks the angle between measurements. This book treat the impractical situation just described by introducing an intelligent measurement tape. The device is able to generate a 3D model of a measured object based on collected sensor data. The work involves aspects in the development of a prototype such as hardware selection, printed circuit board design, 3D case development and software development.
