According to the dictionary, the word horror is defined as an overwhelming and painful feeling caused by something frightfully shocking, terrifying, or revolting; a shuddering fear. While it can be said that a number of motion pictures may contrain horror elements, the true horror film is something with a horror at its basis. Therefore inclusion of films listed in this book are based on primarily vampires, monsters, mutants, aliens and so forth. There are other films included that contain horror elements.
