Forest reserves in Nigeria are known for their rich biodiversity. However, these reserves are currently faced with the severe threat of degradation and deforestation due to illegal farming practices. In the southwestern part of Nigeria, cannabis farming is often cultivated illegally in sensitive forest reserves. A practice could exacerbate habitat fragmentation, soil and forest degradation. Consequently, hamper ecosystem services vital for ecological balance and human survival. This research evaluated the impacts of anthropogenic activities on tree species diversity, abundance and soil physicochemical properties in Queen's plot, Akure Forest Reserve, Ondo State, Nigeria.
