The purpose of this study was to investigate the 4100-year sediment and geochemical record of a hydrologically-closed coastal body of water, Lake Thetis, in Western Australia. Sediment types and biota were recorded from two cores. The following climate proxies were identified: Sedimentology, Biota, and Carbon (δ13C) and Oxygen (δ18O) isotopic compositions. In addition, Radiocarbon dating of organic matter was used to provide a Geochronologic framework and rate of Sediment deposition.

Frank Telles earned his Master of Science degree in Geology in 2005. Since then he has been professor of Oceanography and Geology at Glendale Community College in Los Angeles, California. He has worked on polar climate remote sensing on Mars, Biosignature detection in Banded iron formations, Hydrochemistry in Utah, and climate in Western Australia.
