In this book, seismic response and characteristics of an isolated and non-isolated building are studied using the finite element method by SAP2000. An elaborate investigation of the influence of various parameters involved in isolation is performed. In this study of isolator, types, characteristics and installation techniques in the column of building are considered and the design of rubber bearing isolator for a multi storied residential building located in Dhaka is performed.

Dr. Raja Rizwan Hussain is Asst. Professor in CoE-CRT, College of Engineering, King Saud University, Saudi Arabia. He obtained his Ph.D and M.Sc in Civil Engineering from the University of Tokyo, Japan for which he was ranked outstanding and was awarded medal and prize from the University of Tokyo. Engr. A.B.M. Saiful Islam is a Ph.D Fellow at BUET and Dr. Syed Ishtiaq Ahmed is associate Professor at BUET, Bangladesh.
