Irrigation water quality and its effect on soil properties of Marwar Junction and Rani tehsils of Pali, Rajasthan. Fifty-five water samples were collected during January 2021 from forty villages of Marwar Junction and Rani tehsils from the tube wells which were used for irrigating the fields. Fifty-five composite surface soil samples (0-15 cm depth) were also collected from the cultivated fields irrigating with the above-mentioned tube well waters. Twelve composite surface soil samples (0-15 cm depth) six from each tehsil were also collected from adjacent unirrigated fields at the same time. The water and soil samples were analyzed for various parameters by adopting standard methods and procedures. The majority of irrigation waters were found good to marginally saline. The majority of soils belonged to sandy loam in texture. Soils of the study area were found normal to alkaline in reaction and low in dehydrogenase activity. With respect to fertility, the soil's organic carbon, available phosphorous, and potassium were obtained low, low to medium, and medium to high, respectively.
