Language has a vital playing role in political communication. The media acts as a platform for information dissemination. The meaning behind of newspapers' text of election 2018 in Malaysia and Pakistan is analyzed by employing theory of Norman Fairclough (1995) of Critical Discourse Analysis (CDA) on news reports of 'Malaysiakini', 'The New Straits Times' (independent and mainstream online newspapers from Malaysia), 'Dawn' and 'The News' (as independent and mainstream online newspapers from Pakistan). Social actors in Malaysia, 'Dr.Mahathir Mohamad' and 'Najib Razak', whereas; 'Imran Khan' and 'Nawaz Sharif' in Pakistan have played their active role as per the most popular political parties in their own countries in 2018 elections. By the transitivity analysis (2014) of text, the liberal portrayal of social actors is found in independent newspapers as compared to mainstream online newspapers in both countries.
