In 1993, 54 people died and 403,000 people became ill during a two week period after an outbreak of Cryptosporidium in the city's water system of Milwaukee. On August 14th 2003 55 million people were left in the dark without power for days due to an overloaded power grid and a untrimmed tree. These are just a few examples of why we need to be prepared.
