The Lamiaceae (Labiatae) or mint family is the seventh largest flowering plant family, with many species of economic importance, and a significant component of global plant diversity. District Abbottabad is located in K.P.K (Pakistan), adjoining A.J.K and Islamabad on East and South, respectively. Palynotaxonomy is the study of taxonomy on basis of pollen characters; it is quite helpful in taxonomic and evolutionary studies of plant kingdom. As no previous record exists in printed literature for paleotaxonomic studies of family Lamiaceae from Abbottabad, therefore, this work represents taxonomic study of 43 Lamiaceous species from Abbottabad, with particular emphasis on their Palynology. The book includes many photographs, in order to study macro- and micro-morphological characters of these species in detail (particularly SEM microphotographs). This study is not only an addition to the Flora of Abbottabad, but also to the Honey Pollen Flora of Pakistan, as many Lamiaceous plants involved in honey production are also mentioned. This book, therefore, is useful for students of taxonomy and palynology as well as for bee-farmers.
