The purpose of this paper is to figure out if there is an effect of emotionally intelligent managers in general and expats in particular on the performance of their subordinates. Halliburton Overseas limited; an oil service company was taken as a case study for this research paper. The sample taken from Halliburton Egypt was 100% of the employees and managers which forms one hundred and fifty employees. Two surveys were used to get out the results and test the hypothesis; self survey which was done by the managers on how do they evaluate themselves in terms of being emotionally intelligent and 360 survey were their subordinates have to evaluate them as well and then a comparative analysis was done between managers and expats. The results indicated a positive relationship between emotional intelligent managers and performance of the subordinates and therefore the performance of the workplace as w whole. In addition to the results of the comparative analysis which proved from both views; managers and subordinates that emotionally intelligent managers perform better than emotionally intelligent expats.
