A key finding of the research study is that the regulatory environment, which is described as "highly restrictive," neither enabled nor constrained strategic renewal behaviors of the case organizations, mainly as a result of the type of industry regulation (social regulation) that was found to exist in the print newspaper publishing industry in Saudi Arabia. Other findings include the enabling effects of the top management team, technology adoption, and new competition on the strategic renewal processes of the three case organizations.
