As free as a convict, a convict s story told by a convict. The Future was still a young poet when he was arrested for a minor crime, forcing him to serve two years up north. In those two years lessons were learned, tears were shed, wars were fought and pain was felt. His mother was also arrested mentally and in many ways physically. His family s letters brought joy, tears and hope all in one envelope. His girlfriend at the time stuck by his side up until months before his release, that s when he learned of her disappearance. He also learned how true the saying is: friends are temporary family is forever. Direct and indirect pain was given to fellow inmates only to prevent pain to himself. Wanting to express and tell the world of his experience he chose to do that in the best way he knew how and that is in poetry form.
