Eckhart Tolle says that we all have stories; it does not mean we ARE the stories. I totally believe that. I have come to realize, however, that each and every "story" in my life has availed a way in which I am able to grow and develop and understand. I may not BE my story, but in a lot of ways who I am today and what I am able to understand is the direct product of those stories. There are stories of grieving over grandparents passing, a cousin taking herself to Spirit, children with learning disabilities, being a single mother, remarrying while working for a parochial school, friends coming and going, depression during and after pregnancies, financial issues, a husband diagnosed with terminal cancer leaving me with two little ones to care for in an all too familiar single parent home and the learning and struggle that came when healing, mediumship and ministry became my life. The learning that is still taking place on how to handle myself, balancing the responsibility between my family and children and serving and growing in Spirit. Finding the balance between the people that will encourage and support and the people who will judge and become negative is another part of the story. Those lessons, those times, those memories will ALWAYS be with each and every one of us. It does not matter how many pages in a book the story may entail. It does not matter how many people know or were involved in that part of your story. The story will always be remembered in a way that you perceived it. The story will always be a place to understand where you had choices to make and how you either grew or did not grow through the experience. They are bench marks not of success or failure but of times in your life where change was evident. It is possible to remember and learn without BECOMING the story. I am finding that through the writing the main theme is to find your own unique pathway with Divine. Your walk, your path, your stories and lessons from the stories are going to be different than mine. They are going to be different than anyone else's on this planet. The path is one that is most needed for you to learn what you need to learn so that when you return HOME you will be that much closer to understanding the love from which we are all created. Unfortunately we are not able to understand what we have available to us until it seems so totally absent from our life. We need to learn to cultivate love and find it in the most drastic times in order to understand that it is there to draw on at any time. We need to sometimes feel out of complete control of our own story to understand that all we need to do is stand up, grab the pen and start writing the story we would like. The details of the story may always get a little blurred, but this allows for an adjustment once again, a choice and a learning experience. We are here to learn what love is and to help others realize it themselves. If we accomplish this task with ourselves and just one other soul on the planet then our mission here has been successful and we will be one step closer to the Source of Light.
