Diabetes mellitus is a major public health problem worldwide.However, it is hidden burden in developing countries due to people's low level of knowledge about diabetes mellitus. This study revealed that, 49% respondents have good knowledge and 39.5% respondents have good attitude about diabetes mellitus. Educational status, family income and family history of diabetes mellitus were factors associated with knowledge, while educational status was factors associated with attitude about diabetes mellitus.
