Service learning has exploded in schools and clubs across America as a central way for middle and high school students to enact their civic duty while learning to ask critical questions of the world around them. A native of Memphis, Tennessee, Rabbi Lydia Medwin currently serves as a rabbi and educator at Stephen S. Wise Temple and School in Los Angeles, California. She is passionate about the future of Jewish communal life and its next iteration into the 21st century. She is married to Rabbi Dan Medwin and has two children, Zimra and Gavi.
