John Doyle, a distinguished Maine lawyer served as Ambassador to the Court of St. James's for eight years. When his tenure in London was over he returned to the law practice bearing his name in Bangor, Maine. Out of the blue he receives a personal telephone call from the new President, Lawrence Randall. President Randall invites him to the White House for a private meeting. John Doyle has no idea why he is being summonsed. President Randall and Vice President Horace Spence outline a return to London to attempt to stop al Qaeda from a potential high profile attack on the Homeland. The plan would be for the ambassador to setup a sham think tank to be called, 'The Doyle Foundation'. The foundation would presumably deal with global contemporary political and economic issues. In reality it is staffed with agents from the; CIA, FBI, Secret Service and Homeland Security with a mandate to stop al Qaeda at all costs. As Operation Homerun commences its activities, al Qaeda in a bold move attempts to purchase a suitcase nuclear bomb from North Korea or other rogue states. Al Qaeda's target is New York City. Quickly, the ambassador understands he is not only fighting al Qaeda in Europe but also American al Qaeda. Will the ambassador and his foundation fellows foil al Qaeda's plans or will nine million New Yorker's perish in a nuclear blast?
