Poverty with its multi-faceted nature is widespread in Zeghe peninsula. With a different farming system,Zeghe peninsula is found to host large proportion of people who fall below poverty line. Somehousehold members are compelled to adopt precariousmeasures like migration. Paradoxically, Zeghepeninsula is endowed with various natural resourceendowments. Cultivation of coffee constitute themajor source of income for households of thepeninsula. Households also augment their income fromsale of fruits and firewood, fishing from lake Tana,petty trading, and bee keeping. Livestock productionis uncommon with the exception of sheep fattening andbreeding and chicken rearing. This piece of work makean investigation on the magnitude, determinants andmanifestations of poverty in the area and came upwith an interesting findings.
