This book examines how the available teaching and learning (T/L) resources such as workshop and laboratory equipment as well as library and ICT facilities are organized and utilized in the polytechnics in Ghana. The study looked at how strategies adopted for the utilization of these resources are result driven and how the polytechnics differ in this vain. Data for the study was collected through questionnaires, interviews and observation involving heads of department, teachers and polytechnic Higher National Diploma graduates in four polytechnics in Ghana. The analytical framework of the study recognizes that as part of the material resources, equipment in the workshops and laboratories for practical training is one of the major inputs to technical and vocational education and training not ruling out the strategies in place for their acquisition. Findings from the study revealed among others that T/L resources were inadequate and outdated. Despite the strained resources, they were utilized effectively by teachers and students. Traces of similarities existed between the polytechnics in terms of the organization and utilization of T/L resources for the instructional purposes.
