In developing of this book the published and still unpublished results of our own and available in the literature results of other authors were used. The problems of solid-state diffusion and surface absorption have so far been dealt with a completely different theoretical model. Diffusion within the classical or quantum model, and absorption - only within the classical model. Here, for the first time in literature, both processes are treated uniformly within the quantum model.

Ludwik Dabrowski graduated in the faculty of physics at the Moscow University (1962). Higher degrees: Ph.D. in 1962; D.Sc. in 1998; Professor (2002). Marcin Szuta graduated in technical physics at the Electronic Faculty of Technical University of Gdansk - Poland (1962).Higher degrees: Ph.D. in 1977, D.Sc. in 1997.
