This monograph represents the first meaningfulattempt to obtain a Monte Carlo solution of Maxwell'sequations at sub- and multiple- wavelength lengthscales. The application area of interest is in theelectromagnetic analysis of IC-interconnectstructures at multi-GHz frequencies. Themethodologies developed in this monograph have laidthe foundation for the development of a new MonteCarlo methodology for the solution of nonlinearpartial differential equations and for the solutionof Neumann and mixed boundary condition problemswithout 'reflections' at domain boundaries. Thetarget audience of this monograph is engineers, physicists and computational scientists from alldisciplines. In general, the Monte Carlo method isless developed compared to other deterministicnumerical methods. The author believes thatsignificant progress has been made in applying theMonte Carlo method to problems, where it has not beenapplied in the past. It is his hope that thismonograph, along with its spin-off research willexcite interest in the application of the Monte Carlomethod to wave problems, to nonlinear problems and toproblems with Neumann and mixed boundary conditions.
