Presently there is a growing interest in synthesizing current-mode circuits because of their potential advantages such as larger dynamic range, higher signal bandwidth, greater linearity, simpler circuitry, and low power consumption. In the proposed square-triangular waveform generator circuits, it has better high frequency and less number of passive elements compared to conventional circuits. The performance of CDTA based Schmitt trigger circuits and square-triangular waveform generator circuits are examined using Cadence and the model parameters of a gpdk 180 nm technology. The mathematical expressions obtained for the proposed circuits have been verified with Cadence simulation. Later, the two square-triangular waveform generator circuits were built using commercially available Current Feedback Operational Amplifier (AD844 AN) and Operational Transconductance Amplifier (LM13600) on a breadboard in a laboratory and two grounded passive components are used externally and tested for waveform generation. The results obtained demonstrate in good agreement with the theoretical values.
