Kandace G. Hinton is a professor of higher education leadership at Indiana State University. She earned her M.A. and Ph.D. degrees in Higher Education Administration from Indiana University-Bloomington and her B.A. from Jackson State University.

Valerie Grim is a professor in the department of African American and African Diaspora Studies at Indiana University- Bloomington. She earned her M.A. and Ph.D. in History at Iowa State University and her B.A. from Tougaloo College. As a scholar, Grim researches and publishes in the area of twentieth and twenty-first centuries African American rural history.

Mary F. Howard-Hamilton is the Bayh College of Education Coffman Distinguished Research Professor and Chair of the Department of Educational Leadership at Indiana State University. She received her B.A. and M.A. from the University of Iowa. Dr. Howard-Hamilton has published over 90 articles and book chapters and co-authored Multicultural and Diversity Issues in Student Affairs Practice: A Professional Competency-Based Approach (2019). She holds an Ed.D. from N.C. State University and a M.A. and a B.A. from the University of Iowa.

O. Gilbert Brown is a professor in the Student Affairs in Higher Education Master's Degree Program at Missouri State University. Gilbert received his B.S. from the University of Kansas; his M.S. in College Student Personnel from Miami University; and his Doctorate in Higher Education Administration from Indiana University-Bloomington.

Mona Y. Davenport received her B.S. and M.S. from Eastern Illinois University and her Ph.D. in Higher Education Leadership from Illinois State University. She currently serves as the Executive Director of the Office of Inclusion and Academic Engagement at EIU, where she provides leadership and support to under-represented students.
