Presence of Natural Organic Matter(NOM) a contaminant in source water poses a challenge during water treatment and distribution. Focus of many previous water treatment research has been on changes in NOM during water treatment, but there's a shift in research trend to focus on NOM in source water (before any treatment). Its of greater benefit for water treatment utilities to characterize NOM in source water so as to know its quantity, source and predict removal and suitable removal technology. This book shows the investigation of different NOM size fractions in different surface and ground waters. NOM fractionation of water samples was done by Ultrafiltration using membrane filters of size 0.45 µm, 0.2 µm, 100 KDa and 50 KDa. These NOM size fractions were analysed using State-of-art techniques to measure: Dissolved Organic Carbon (DOC), Ultra Violet Absorbance at 254 nm (UV254) and range of 200-400 nm, SUVA and Fluorescence Excitation and Emission Matrix (F-EEM).The study also shows effect of DOC dilution to concentration lower than 1 mg/L on F-EEM results. The study should be useful especially to those involved in water analysis, water quality research and water quality monitoring
