Traditionally algebra and geometry have been taught separately and little connections have been made between these two branches of mathematics at the high school level in the U.S. This research investigated high school students use of algebraic thinking when solving geometrical problems. The book provides valuable information to mathematics educators about how high school students with varying knowledge of algebra and at different van Hiele levels of geometrical thinking approached the solution of geometrical problems where some form of algebraic thinking was required.
