A Missing Piece of Jigsaw: The Birth, Life and Death of a Destructive Relationship This work consists of an anthology of didactic poems written over a two year period and illustrates the desperation and predictable demise of an emotionally abusive relationship, along with the gradual destruction of a trusting nature. The majority of the work focuses on the thought and feelings of the 'victim' - although some examination and analysis of the victim role might be worthy of some critical evaluation; responses are expressed in italic font and again - the role of 'persecutor' should remain open for discussion. A single contribution from a third party is identified through courier new font and this contribution has been presented at page 29. I have decided to publish this work to offer some solace to others in a similar situation. Whilst I was at my lowest ebb I searched in vain for text to express my feelings but the closest I got was a range of articles on Narcissism; a personality disorder characterised by an abnormal love of self. My ex partner displayed a range of narcissistic traits but the underlying issue was his compulsive lying and the catalyst for the end of the relationship was participation in a lie detector test (page 22: 'I didn't do anything'). However, readers might also identify a range of other issues including insecurity, dependence and love addiction; this is the beauty of the work - through analysis and reflection, others may work through their pain by examination of a relationship that nearly cost me my sanity. I envisage a target market of a range of readers who are searching, like I did to make sense of a dysfunctional relationship. However, the work may also appeal to those who teach and promote the development of critical thinking; I would certainly use a text like this with my own students to examine their skills of analytical evaluation. I also envisage a trilogy of books that will examine reasons around my accommodation towards this d
