Eliza Hartrich joined the University of East Anglia in 2019 as a Lecturer in Late Medieval History. Prior to that, she was a Scouloudi Doctoral Fellow at the Institute of Historical Research, a Fellow-by-Examination (JRF) at Magdalen College, Oxford, and a lecturer at the University of Sheffield. She has published widely on urban history in late medieval England, with a particular focus on urban networks, rebellion, and councils. Her work has appeared in
publications such as the English Historical Review and Proceedings of the British Academy. Her current project addresses the role of urban networks in the medieval 'English empire' in Ireland, Wales, and France.
