We present a detailed mathematical procedures and also associated programs that can be used in demonstrating the basic working principle of a radar system in general and weather radar in particularly, which mimic a real radar signal processing. By ingesting real rainfall measurement and the interpolated values into the model, we have estimated a weather radar scattered power. The thesis is organized in five chapters. The first chapter presents fundamental concepts in radar system and also the radar signal processing operation like modulation, frequency mixing, filtering and IQ detection by considering a simplified scenario and that is a point target scattering. Chapter 2 applies the topics covered in Chapter 1 for the case of a weather radar system. How one extract practically useful parameters from a weather radar measurement is the subject of Chapter 3, which contains the applicable estimation theory. Chapter 4 and Chapter 5 contain the algorithm used in the simulation and results, respectively
