Touched by the Spirit of a Horse speaks primarily about two species, horses and humans. It addresses how each species is governed and educated, and how that governance critically affects them. This is not just another book about training horses; it is about humans taking on the responsibility of reshaping our collective awareness to make the world better for everything on it, using the temperament of horses as our primary role model for how we should want to behave. We must diligently work to develop the conscience, compassion and character of anyone who accepts a position of authority. This is true for parents, clergy, trainers, managers, educators and all people who govern our planet. People in positions of authority must give high-principled directions to their students, and teach by their example; so expected behaviors are obtained from their students, whether they are horses or children. We can learn to be better people if we study the equine way of wisdom and virtue, their way of honesty and truthfulness, and apply those principles to our human approach to living. Horses seem to have an innate knowledge of what's right, by what seems to be Divine intervention. My goal is to capture the understanding of the innate love, intelligence, and social capability of horses. Horses naturally seem to know how to live in accordance with God's laws. I think God created horses to be His ambassadors, to teach us tolerance and moderation. Horses just seem to give the impression that they are innately able to get things done right, all the time, without a lot of fuss, and very little use of force.
