<div><b>Kalamu ya Salaam</b> is a performance poet, a&nbsp;dramatist, a fiction writer, and a music critic. He is the founder of Nommo Literary Society and the founder and former editor of <i>Black Collegian</i> <i>Magazine</i>. He is the author of&nbsp;<i>From a&nbsp;Bend in the&nbsp;River: 100 New Orleans Poets </i>and <i>What&nbsp;Is Life?: Reclaiming&nbsp;the Black Blues Self</i>.
