Now at the beginning of her tenth decade, author Eleanor Jessup Stevenson has been a lifelong resident of southern New Jersey. She grew up on a farm and developed her interests in creatures and plants as a young child. She spent her working years as an elementary school teacher and tried very hard never to miss the "teachable moment." This book is the result of such a moment.
