Albert Zimbler grew up on the West Side of Chicago and served in WWII. He met his wife when she was a nurse at Mt. Sinai Hospital, and they were married when he returned to civilian life. After getting an accounting degree and becoming a CPA, Al moved with Ruth and their first child to Elgin, Illinois, where Al started his own accounting firm. After Ruth and Al's four children had grown, Al sold his accounting service before moving to the suburbs of Chicago, where he and Ruth now live.
