Judith S. Yaphe is a senior fellow in the Institute for National Strategic
Studies at the National Defense University, where she specializes in political
analysis and strategic planning on Iraq, Iran, and the Gulf region. Prior to joining
INSS in 1995, Dr. Yaphe was a senior political analyst on the Middle East-Persian
Gulf for the U.S. Government. She has published extensively on Iraq, Iran, and U.S.
security policy in the Gulf region.
