J. Word was born and raised in Southern California. His formative years were spent in several of Los Angeles County's inner city neighborhoods (Compton, Watts, Inglewood, and Carson). Having always loved reading and storytelling, writing is his not so guilty pleasure. When he's not, reading, writing or fiddling with technological devices, he's spending time with his wife and 3 sons in the "middle-land," not exactly in Los Angeles, not exactly in The Valley of Southern California.
