Paul Woods was born in 1946 in Boston, MA Raised in neighborhood housing projects, he graduated from Catholic Memorial High School in West Roxbury. Inspired by reading Jack London and Harper Lee, he filled two notebooks with "Wind In The Meadow," a first attempt novel that ran eighty-five thousand words. Paul enlisted in the Air Force and served as a sentry dog handler in Vietnam in 1967. He married Claire Marie Kelly, a second grade teacher in 1969 until her death in 1996.
