Steven Wood was born and raised in the Worth Valley and has been living in Haworth for over twenty years. He was educated at Keighley Boys' Grammar School and Leeds Polytechnic. His working life was spent in hospital and university laboratories. Since retiring from Bradford University's School of Pharmacy about seventeen years ago he has devoted himself to the study of the history of the Haworth area.
