Mrs. Viola Williams served her country in world war II as an air traffic controller, married a navy airman from New Mexico, and moved west with Slick Williams after the war. They went to Eastern New Mexico University on the G. I. Bill, and graduated in 3 years. After moving to Arizona in 1946 Vi developed a love for the desert while starting a family, and teaching school. Vi taught school in southern Arizona for over 30 years.
