Wickramasinghe, Chandra

Chandra Wickramasinghe is a world-renowned astronomer. He holds the chair of applied mathematics and astronomy at Cardiff University, and in 1986 he was awarded the International Dag Hammarskjold Gold Medal for Science. In 1996 he was awarded, along with Arthur C. Clarke, the International Sahabdeen Prize for Science.
