Curt's experiences in World War II and his subsequent research into various aspects of his unit's experience (and that of the units of other Vets he assisted) have led to his being held in high esteem by such notable institutions as the U.S. Holocaust Museum. In 1995, he was one of the six Liberators chose for the annual candle-lighting on the Day of Remembrance at the Capitol Rotunda.
