Celestia Whitehead grew up in Alaska, first on a homestead in the Copper River area, then in Anchorage. She has also lived in California, Utah, Idaho, and Montana, all places that have given her settings and characters for her novels. She has a degree in Art and English from Brigham Young University, in Provo, Utah, USA. She taught Art and English in public schools for twelve years and has published poetry and humorous articles in two newspapers, and articles in the Ensign magazine.
