Major Euell White retired from the Army after 21 years service. He enlisted in 1951 at the age of 17 and served 10 years as a noncommissioned officer, then received a direct appointment to second lieutenant. He served three tours in Vietnam: His first with Special Forces, Special Operations Detachment, "Project Delta" and was wounded at Plei Me on 22 October 1965.
