Whitby, Mary

Mary Whitby, a teacher, was born in Sydney Australia. She trained for her profession at Balmain Teachers' College and moved to rural New South Wales to take up her teaching career. She met and married a country boy, reared a family of four children, and all the while continued writing poems, a passion that began in her own school days.
