The author is Australian-born teacher and writer Dr Rosemary Westwell who lives in Cambridgeshire, England. She moved to the UK in 1971. After a varied career with a number of different jobs, she finally settled with her British husband in Cambridgeshire, teaching in a number of different schools in the county. After the birth of the second child, her husband began to show signs of an illness that degenerated into dementia and he is now permanently in a care home.
