Originally from Hull, Emma Warhurst graduated with an MA in Spanish from the University of St Andrews in 2007. As part of her degree, she spent a year living in Madrid, the setting for her first novella, The Last Six Days. Emma continued her studies at the University of Cambridge with an MPhil in Latin American Studies, writing a thesis titled 'Para las brujas, el infierno: Witchcraft and enchantment as forms of female transgression in 20th century Latin American short fiction'.
