C M Ward was born and raised in Hanworth, five miles from Heathrow where he began work. Two years later he joined the Royal Navy for almost eight years. He visited various places between Hong Kong, North Borneo, Australia in East to Londonderry in West...he is fairly well-travelled. After leaving the Royal Navy he moved to Norwich in 1970 where he began writing Whyte Island. He has a daughter and loves reading.
